The Arizona Cattlemen's Association Industry News - 27th National Beef Cook-Off
With funds partially supplied by the Beef CheckOff ANCW produced and executed an amazingly successful National Beef Cook-Off. We selected "Seize Life" as our theme to reflect the new healthy beef message and to give family chefs new ways to enjoy the fabulous taste and versatility and ease of preparation that make beef the No. 1 protein choice.

This was our first attempt to produce a Cook-Off without a host state. It required hours and hours of detailed planning from our Project Director, the NBCO Committee, the State Team Members who help organize the event and the 70 plus volunteers who came to help.

The TV Food Network asked to be included at the last minute and although it meant some last minute changes and adjustments we felt the television exposure was worth the trouble. The NBCO segment will be an hour program and will air with their Challenge Series. As soon as we hear a date we will spread the word. The rest of the PR figures are astounding. Our impression count for the two weeks following the event is already at 313,205,441. The first effort has been in Chicago which is a market which we have not really had access to in the past. Our goal for the entire next year was set at 333 million and we're just getting started. Based on the momentum of the results generated to date for event/post event outreach, we anticipate FAR surpassing the high end of our overall 2007 PR goal!

ANCW Would like to thank the generous donors from Arizona who truly contributed to the success of the event: Arizona State Cowbelles, Arizona Cattle Feeders, McElhaney Cattle Co., Red Rock Feeding, Running W Ranch, Tucson Cowbelles, Yavapai Cowbelles. Arizona always comes through and we thank you.
